Happiness

hit her when she didn’t expect it to.

felt so foreign yet so true,

she didn’t know she could feel it again.

if she’d ever be able to,

but here she was,

on the cusp of a new beginning,

feeling the sunshine on her face,

soaking up all the dark thoughts and emotions.
